Closure of R569 road

As progress continues on finalising the extensive structural repairs to the R569 road at Loo Bridge, Kerry County Council anticipates that the road will re-open to traffic on Friday, 28 February.

Since the road partially collapsed on 9 February, Council staff and contractors have been working in difficult weather conditions to ensure the repairs were completed as quickly as possible.

Kerry County Council would like to acknowledge the patience and cooperation of the public while the repair works took place.

Meanwhile, Kerry County Council is to commence repair works on the N71 Moll’s Gap Road on Monday next, 2 March at 7.00am. The works – which were postponed pending the completion of repairs on the R569 – involve essential repairs to a section of a partially collapsed wall between Dinis Cottage and Moll’s Gap. To facilitate the works, the road will be fully closed to traffic until Monday, 16 March 2020. Diversions will be in place via the N22/R569 road and will be clearly signposted.
