Proposed Water Abstraction Pipeline and Associated Hydropower Scheme
PUBLIC CONSULTATION
An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is being prepared in relation to a proposal to construct a water abstraction pipeline from Lough Gouragh and Lough Callee, located at Coomcallee (Hags Glen), Beaufort, to the existing water treatment works at Gearha, Beaufort, Killarney, Co. Kerry. The proposal also includes for the installation of a hydroelectric turbine on the pipeline at the water treatment site.
Members of the public are invited to express their views, and obtain information , on the proposal, at a public consultation evening which will be held at:
Killorglin Area Services Centre, Library Place, Iveragh Road, Killorglin on Thursday 12th March 2009 from 7.30pm to 9.00pm
Representatives from Kerry County Council and Fehilly Timony, Consulting Engineers, will attend.
