Built Heritage Jobs Leverage Scheme 2014

Kerry County Council will administer a scheme of grants for the conservation of Protected Structures, Proposed Protected Structures and Structures that contribute to the character of an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA) in 2014.

The objective of the scheme is to encourage the leveraging of private capital to invest in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftworkers and tradespeople.

The scheme is intended to fund the appropriate repair and conservation of historic structures with works that:-

a)            Are sympathetic to the character and special interest of the structure

b)            Are of a standard that matched the historical detailing , materials and techniques

c)            Works may be funded that will improve the energy efficiency of historic buildings.

The terms of the scheme exclude routine building maintenance, alterations or improvement.

 The minimum award of funding available under this scheme will be €2,500 up to a maximum of €15,000. Successful applicants will be required to fully match the funding awarded.
