Sliabh Luachra Center, Scartaglin - Sliabh Luachra is an area that borders the counties Cork, Kerry & Limerick. The music from the area has a distinctive style, which is difficult to explain in words, but easy to distinguish in sound. Home of the Sliabh Luachra tradition of music of fiddle playing, set dancing, box playing and poetry live on since pre Christian times with a mythological tradition where, in the shadow of the Pap's Mountain, 'the breasts of the goddess Danu', life, arts &  heritage were recorded by great musicians The dances of the area are polkas, slides, jigs -this is reflected in the music
