A DAC is required for new buildings other than dwellings (including apartment buildings) and certain works to which the Requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations apply, which commence or take place on or after 1 January 2010
A DAC is an approval by the Building Control Authority that the proposed design of the building is in compliance with Part M (Access for people with Disabilities) of the Building Control Regulations.
When you receive a DAC in relation to a proposed design, it means that your building will only comply with the Disabled Access requirements of the Building Regulations if it is constructed in accordance with the plans, documents and information submitted to the Building Control Authority.
Application documentation required:
Two copies of a signed and completed prescribed Disability Access Certificate application form plus the correct fee.
(B) Plus two copies of each of the following items:
Fees : While the standard fee for an application for a Disability Access Certificate
or a Revised Disability Access Certificate is €800, per building, a reduced
fee of €500 shall apply where the application is made prior to the commencement
of works and coincides with an application for a fire safety certificate,
where relevant.
Revised Disability Access Certificate
Required where a Disability Access Cert has already been granted for a building and significant changes to the design or works of the building, extension, material alteration or change of use takes place.
Application documentation required:
Fees : €800 per Building - A fee of €500 shall apply where the application is made prior to the commencement
of works and coincides with an application for a fire safety certificate,
where relevant.
