Smoke Alarm Scheme

The Community Smoke Alarm Scheme is one of the initiatives arising from the Fire Services Change Programme in 2005, which focused on fire prevention.  Vulnerable groups identified as being at greatest risk are prioritised.

The Scheme is administered by the Community and Enterprise Department in partnership with Fire Service and voluntary organisations.  The scheme commenced in 2007 and has been extended.

One meeting of the interagency group was held during 2010 as work was curtailed due to late confirmation of the exchequer allocation.
