Kerry Enterprise Action Team

KEAT is an economic sub-committee of the County Development Board with the primary role:


 “To strategically stimulate the enterprise and economic development in the county”.


  • KEAT aims to work collaboratively to develop collective actions that could not be implemented by any one agency acting alone.
  • KEAT members will benefit by helping each other, sharing information and resources in a collective manner.


It has eleven members representing the following organisations:

Institute of Technology Tralee
Enterprise Ireland
Kerry County Enterprise Board
Kerry County Council
Shannon Development
South Kerry Development Partnership
Udaras Na Gealthachta

It is chaired by the County Manager

In November 2010, the objectives and operation of this sub group underwent a review process to re focus its work programme.  It is now working  on a new strategy and direct for the group.

An example of other actions taken during 2010 are as following;

A one Day Seminar was held on March 23rd 2010 with over 600 people attending. The Seminar entitled “One Step Forward” provided information to unemployed people on job search, recruitment, welfare rights, enterprise start ups and education and training.

A Kerry Promotional package was developed to provide and incentive for businesses to invest in Kerry and a ‘Welcome to Kerry’ promotional brochure was designed and complete.
