Community Facilities Scheme 2017

'Age Friendly Initiatives – Call for Funding Submissions under the Community Facilities Scheme 2017'

Kerry County Council in conjunction with the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) on behalf of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government is inviting applications under the ‘Community Facilities Capital Scheme’ to provide small scale capital grants to fund local Age Friendly initiatives and projects in Kerry.

A total of €64,000 is available under this fund, where the maximum grant available is €1,000 per project.

An Age Friendly community is a community that allows people as they get older to live in security, maintain their health and participate fully in society. Applications are invited from local community groups and organisations for age friendly initiatives and actions that can be delivered in 2017.

The age friendly grants provide funding for new activities that support age friendly communities such as:

  • Improved access to public and community buildings
  • Creation of safe, comfortable places to meet
  • Intergenerational capital projects
  • Provision of recreation and healthy living facilities

Application forms are available below or by calling the Community Department in Kerry County Council on 066 7183680.

The deadline for project applications is June 30th 2017 and all projects must be delivered in 2017.
