The first of three contracts designed to upgrade the drinking water supply in Kenmare, was signed by the Mayor of Kerry, Cllr Tom Fleming, in Kenmare on Monday, August 25th.

The contract, which is valued at €4.4m, will see the construction of 23 kilometres of water distribution mains and rising mains. It also involves the part-refurbishment of the sewer network in the town centre.

The contractors for the project are Ward and Burke Ltd, Kilcolgan, County Galway. The Consulting Engineers are Malachy Walsh of Cork. The project is being part-funded under the National Development Plan – Water Services Investment Programme through the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
