Mayor welcomes JRI America jobs announcement for Tralee

The Mayor of Kerry, Cllr Tim Buckley has welcomed the announcement by JRI America Inc of plans to establish a Software Development Operation in the Tralee.

The operation, which will be located in the Kerry Technology Park, hopes to create up to 100 highly skilled positions over the next five years. Already recruitment is underway for a number of positions.

JRI America Inc is a subsidiary of the Japanese IT financial services company, Japan Research Institute Ltd which is the specialist IT subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), owners of Japan’s second largest bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

The Tralee operation will support the group’s Western Hemisphere IT operations including the US, UK, Dubai and other markets.

“This is a fantastic announcement for Tralee and for Kerry and great credit must be paid to all agencies such as Shannon Development, the IDA, and Forfas, who worked hard to bring JRI to Tralee,” Mayor Buckley stated.

“Through the Kerry Technology Park and the Institute of Technology, Tralee, we have the environment and the workforce in place which can make announcements like this possible.”
