FORMATION OF A PANEL OF VALUERS FOR TENANT PURCHASE SCHEME
A new Tenant Purchase Scheme was introduced from the 1st of January 2016 under Part 3 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014.
A key element of the Scheme relates to the market value of dwellings which may be sold and Kerry County Council requires the establishment of a panel of Valuers to provide valuation certificates.
The panel will firstly be used by the Council to engage Valuers to provide valuation certificates (the initial valuation) to the Council at an agreed price.
Secondly, where a tenant does not agree with the initial valuation as provided by the Council, they may at their own expense engage a different Valuer, which must be from the panel, to provide an independent valuation.
The Council propose to request the initial valuation certificates as the need arises and it is expected that approximately 100 such certificates will be required on an annual basis. It is not known how many independent valuations may be required as this is at the discretion of tenants.
Kerry County Council requires the establishment of a panel of Valuers to provide valuation certificates in relation to its Tenant Purchase Scheme. Kerry County Council now invites applications from suitably qualified valuers to be included on this panel.
