New Vehicles

Goods (Commercial) Vehicles:

In order to tax a vehicle at the Goods (Commercial) rate, the vehicle can only be used as a goods carrying vehicle in the course of a business/trade and cannot be used at any time for social, domestic or pleasure purposes.

 
• Form RF.100 (available from Motor Dealer) fully completed and signed by registered owner.
• Fee  (click here for current motor tax rates)
• Commercial (Goods) Vehicles over 1524kg must submit weight docket from an authorised weighbridge issued within past 3 working days.
Please note: Articulated Tractor s must be weighed with the heaviest trailer available for use during the taxation period. 
• Commercial Vehicles must complete 'Goods Only' declaration form at a Garda station (form available from Motor Tax Office) and submit with a valid commercial insurance certificate as part of tax application. In certain circumtances further supporting documentation may also be required.  
• Recovery vehicles must be presented to Motor Tax office for inspection prior to taxing

Private Vehicles:

• Form RF.100 (available from Motor Dealer) fully completed and signed by registered owner.
• Fee  (click here for current motor tax rates)
• In the case of motor caravans and camper vans, the vehicle must be presented to Kerry Motor Tax for inspection prior to taxing.
• In the case of agricultural tractors, an Agricultural Declaration (available from Motor Tax Office) must be witnessed either at Kerry Motor Tax Office or at a Garda station and submitted with tax application.

 PSV Vehicles/School Buses:

• Form RF.100 (available from Motor Dealer) fully completed and signed by registered owner.
• Fee  (click here for current motor tax rates)
• In the cases of PSV vehicles and school buses a valid Vehicle PSV Licence or Article 60 in the case of School buses must accompany application.
