Renewal of Motor Tax
Documents required when renewing tax on your vehicle:
• RF100B (computerised reminder issued by Vehicle Registration Centre, Shannon) or Motor Tax Renewal Form ( RF100A) available from motor taxation offices, public libraries and Garda Stations – to be fully completed and signed by registered owner.

Goods vehicles may require Pass Certificates from Authorised Department of Environment Test Centres. Current fee of 13 EUR for Certificate of Roadworthiness in respect of heavy goods vehicles (in excess of 3,500 kgs) and 6 EUR for light goods vehicles.
• In the cases of Public Service Vehicles (PSV vehicles) and school buses a valid Vehicle PSV Licence or Article 60 in the case of School buses must accompany application.
Large Public Service Vehicles 1 year old or more require a DOE Pass Certificate from Authorised Department of Environment Test Centres. Current fee of 13 EUR for Certificate of Roadworthiness in respect of large Public Service Vehicles.
Pass Statements:
A Pass Statement issued by an Authorised Tester (Test Centre) should be exchanged at a Motor Tax Office for a Certificate of Roadworthiness (CRW) where applicable. The Pass Statement must be signed by the registered owner prior to presentation to the Motor Tax Office. It is a legal requirement to have a current CRW for any relevant vehicle and not just a Pass Statement.
When a certified copy of a lost Pass Statement is being exchanged for a Certificate of Roadworthiness it will only be accepted by the Motor Tax Office provided it is being submitted within four weeks of the test date.
All certified copies of Pass Statements must be signed, dated and stamped by the tester on VTN test centre headed paper. There is no obligation on a Motor Tax Office to accept a copy of a Pass Statement.
• In the case of agricultural tractors, an Agricultural Declaration (available from Motor Tax Office) must be witnessed either at Motor Tax Office or at a Garda station and submitted with tax application when a change of ownership has occurred since the last taxing of the tractor.
