Oireachtas na Gaeilge will begin tonight in Killarney when 500 teenagers arrive in the town for Scléip na hÓige, 3 days of craic, music, spóirt and dance.
15,000 people are expected to flock to Killarney for the largest Irish language festival in the country, worth some €5.5 million to the town.
If you’ve never been to the Oireachtas, dust down your cúpla focal and pop along to see the huge variety of cultural and traditional events and competitions, including sessions; concerts; competitions featuring sean-nós singing, dancing, storytelling, drama and visual arts, seminars, workshops and a lot more besides.
Kerry County Council and Killarney Town Council are sponsoring this years youth events and competitions including Scleip na hÓige.
Oifig na Gaeilge and The County Development Board are organising a seminar targeted at the public sector on Using Irish in the Public Domain, 2pm Thursday, Innisfallen Suite, Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney. All are welcome.
