Temporary Closing of Roads - Glengarriff

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, and the Temporary Closing of Roads Regulations, 1994, Kerry County Council is proposing to close to public traffic the following Road:-

The N71 National Secondary Road (part of) at Lyre, Glengarriff, at and adjacent to the County Bounds Tunnel between Kenmare and Glengarriff during the hours of 9.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m. on the following dates: Tuesday, 28th October, 2008 to Friday, 31st October, 2008, both dates inclusive. 

The purpose of the road closure is to allow essential survey work to be carried out at the County Bounds Tunnel and at adjacent tunnels.

Alternative Routes:

Kenmare to Glengarriff:

From the junction of N71 & R571 at Kenmare Town, after suspension bridge, turn right, via R571 to Lauragh, Ardgroom, Eyeries and Castletownbere, then via R572 to Adrigole and Glengarriff

Glengarriff to Kenmare:

From the junction of N71 & R572 at Glengarriff Village, via R572 to Adrigole and Castletownbere, then via R571 to Eyeries, Ardgroom, Lauragh and Kenmare

Any person having an objection to this proposal should lodge same with the Administrative Officer, Roads, Transportation & Safety Department, Kerry County Council, Áras an Chontae, Tralee, County Kerry not later that 5.00 p.m. on Monday, 13th October 2008.
