Temporary Closing of Roads - Rally of the Lakes

RALLY OF THE LAKES 2009


Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the Temporary Closing of Roads Regulations Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, and the Temporary Closing of Roads Regulations 1994, Kerry County Council proposes to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder to facilitate the holding of the Rally of the Lakes 2009 from Saturday, May 2nd to Sunday May 3rd 2009.

Saturday, May 2nd 2009
Stages 1 & 2: MOLL’S GAP

N-71
Starting 100m beyond the entrance to Muckross House, traveling west along Muckross Lake to Gortracussane, southwest via Galway’s Bridge Cross and Moll’s Gap, southeast via Carrig Cross, Kilkenna Cross and finishing at Sahaleen Bridge near Carhoonegar Cross.
From 06.30hrs to12.30hrs.

Stages 3 & 6: GORTNAGANE

L-3014
Starting at Headfort East Cross via Lisnagrave Cross, Doocarrigbeg Cross, Shrone Beg Cross, Shrone Cross, Awnaskirtaun Cross, crossing the county bounds at Awnaskirtaun.
From 10.00hrs to 13.20hrs and from 13.40hrs to 17.00hrs.

Stages 4 &7: BANARD

L-7045, L-7046, L-3013, L-7044, L-3012, L-7031, L-7029.
Starting at Scrahanagullaun Lower Cross traveling west to Banard Lower Cross, left, immediate right and left again to Meentoges Cross, right via Meentoges townland to Barraduff Upper Cross, right via Lisaby Cross to Annaghilymore Cross, straight through to Lyre Bridge Cross, right via Maulykeavane townland, Maulykeavane Cross to Scrahanaveal Cross, left via Maughantoorig townland and finishing at Maughantoorig Lower Cross.
From 11.50hrs to 15.15hrs and from15.40hrs to 19.00hrs.

Stages 5 & 8: KNOCKACULLIG

L-3006, L-3005, L-7014, L-7013, L-3009, L-7015, L-2033.
Starting at the L-3006/L-11103 junction in Carker/Cangullia townlands and traveling south to Carker Cross, right to Haremount Cross, right to Kilsarkan East Cross, left via Kilsarkan East, Knockanroe and Bawnaglanna townlands, through Cullinanes Cross to Cockhill Cross, right to Creamery Cross (at Cockhill), left via Knocklibede Cross to Coolick School Cross, left via Dooneen Br. and finishing at Dooneen Cross just north of Finnegan’s Cross.
From 12.40hrs to 16.00hrs and from16.20hrs to 19.40hrs.

Sunday, May 3rd 2009
Stage 9: MOLL’S GAP

Starting 100m beyond the entrance to Muckross House, traveling west along Muckross Lake to Gortracussane, southwest via Galway’s Bridge Cross and Moll’s Gap, southeast via Carrig Cross, Kilkenna Cross and finishing at Sahaleen Bridge near Carhoonegar Cross.
From 07.00hrs to 10.50hrs.

Stages 10 & 13: HEALY PASS

Starting at the Sibín Pub at Lauragh Cross, traveling south via Cummers Cross, Knockastumpa and Coolcreen townlands, crossing the county bounds at Healy’s Pass,
From 08.30hrs to 14.45hrs.


Stage 16: KILMAKILLOGE

R-573.
Starting at Derreen Cross, traveling north-west via Kilmackillogue Cross, through Bunaw, Loughaunacreen, Tragalee and Canfee townlands, Lehud Bridge Cross, finishing at Ardea Cross, Tuosist.
From 14.45hrs to 18.00hrs.

In addition, all adjoining public roads will be closed for a distance of 200m from each junction within the above routes.

Any person having an objection to this proposal should lodge same with the Administrative Officer, Roads and Transportation Department, Aras an Chontae, Tralee, on or before 5.00pm on Tuesday, 14 April 2009.
