TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS

SECTION 75 OF ROADS ACT 1993

 

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, and the Temporary Closing of Roads Regulations, 1994, Kerry County Council is proposing to close to public traffic the following road-

The N71 National Secondary Road from it’s junction with the R568 at Moll’s Gap, for a distance of 3.35km, to the townland of Looscaunagh, in a north easterly direction towards Killarney, from 7.00 a.m. on Monday 21st October, 2013 to 7.00 p.m. on Thursday 24th October, 2013, both dates inclusive.

The purpose of the road closure is to facilitate Pavement Overlay Works on the N71 in the townland of Eirk.

Motorists wishing to travel on this section of the N71 are advised to use the N22/R569 alternative route via Glenflesk and Kilgarvan. Access will be allowed for local and tourist traffic as far as the townland of Looscaunagh.  There will be No Through Road for public traffic in the townland of Eirk, in order to facilitate the road works.

Any person having an objection to this proposal should lodge same, in writing, with the Administrative Officer, Roads, Transportation & Safety Department, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Tralee, County Kerry not later than 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 8th October 2013.
