Invitation to Community Meeting on The Gathering 2013
Fáilte Ireland and the Kerry Gathering Steering Committee are hostinga public meeting on The Gathering, Ireland 2013 in Ballygarry House Hotel, Killarney Road, Tralee on Wednesday, July 4th, at 7pm.
The Gathering is conceived as a tourism and community initiativeseeking to link local communities with the extended Irish familyabroad and inviting them to visit Ireland in 2013. It will be a year long celebration of all that is great about Ireland and its people. There will be national, regional and local events. It is hoped that community,voluntary, sporting, business and tourism groups in every town,village and parish in Ireland will become involved in organising local events: homecoming festivals, family reunions, religious events, GAA and other sporting events, tours etc and reach out to extended family members, neighbours and friends who live abroad to return for the celebrations. Their return visit will provide an economic boost to local areas and a platform for renewal in Ireland.
