Interruptions to the water supply took place in the following places last night as Kerry County Council looks to conserve water and replenish the supply in reservoirs around the county. Water was turned off from 10pm-7am and a similar interruption will happen again tonight. While water has been turned back on in all areas, it may not yet be back in all households, but should return shortly.
Customers in Tralee drawing their water from the Lisloose and Ballintobeenig reservoirs. This affects mainly the western part of Tralee town and also houses in the high ground north of Tralee.
Ballyduff, Ballybunion and many areas in the western side of North Kerry.
Mid Kerry, in the areas surrounding Beaufort, Killorglin and Milltown.
These areas can expect similar restrictions tonight. Water in Listowel town was not turned off last night, but it will be turned off tonight to help replenish the Dromin reservoir.
Households in other areas may also still be experiencing difficulties with their water supply. We advise to firstly check with neighbours to see if their water is on. If so, the problem may be related to frozen pipes within the houseowners property, or a leak in the service pipe. If there is widespread water outage in the area, customers are advised to contact Kerry County Council’s Water Services Department on 066 7183503.
Water Services staff are currently operating throughout the county, working to restore water to all those who are experiencing interruptions.
