Description:  Here in Paradise is a contemporary art exhibition by renowned German artist Jochen Gerz with portraits by Peter Zoeller.  The exhibition will be located in the North and South Squares in Sneem village during summer 2014.  Forty inhabitants of Sneem participate and share their vision of their local environment, their life and also their wishes for the future of Ireland and for Europe. 

Here in Paradise is commissioned by Sneem Tidy Towns and supported by the Goethe-Institut, the embassies of France and the Federal Republic of Germany in Dublin and by Kerry County Council.


Exhibition: "Charles de Gaulle: A Quiet Holiday"

A Photographic Exhibition on Charles De Gaulle's visit to Ireland in 1969 is to open on Friday 30th May in the Kerry Geopark Information Centre in Sneem. The exhibition presents original photographs from the Kennelly Archive of De Gaulle's visit to Ireland after he left power in May 1969. Padraig and Joan Kennelly, founders of a small photographic studio in Tralee, followed the trail of this noted visitor and recorded the excitement caused among the inhabitants of Sneem, Co. Kerry. They called the collection "A Quiet Holiday".
