Community Enhancement Programme - Closing date, 20th July 2018.
The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP), which is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, has provided €142,409 for projects in Kerry in 2018. This CEP programme replaces and builds on two existing schemes (Communities Facilities Scheme and RAPID). Combining the schemes will make for a more flexible, streamlined and targeted approach to providing funding to those communities most in need.
Kerry County Council is pleased to announce that grant applications are now being invited from Community Groups and local organisations across the county. In Kerry it has been agreed that the funding under this Programme will be targeted at supporting Age Friendly initiatives, actions targeting age friendly work from the Local Economic and Community Plan and Kerry’s Age Friendly Work Plan.
A minimum of 30% of the funding will be ring-fenced for projects costing up to €1,000 with the remaining funding being directed towards larger projects up to €5,000 and innovative projects up to €15,000.
Typical enhancements under the programme could include, Home Maintenance programmes, Accessibility Projects, the provision of comfortable meeting spaces for older people, community amenities, public realm improvements, social spaces, community safety initiatives, intergenerational projects, creative and recreational activities for older people.
The funding covers capital projects only and should demonstrate added value.
The CEP will be administered by Kerry County Council in cooperation with the Local Community Development Committee.
