Kerry Film Bursary Previous Winners

The Kerry Short Film Bursary 2020, worth €10,000 towards the production of a short film, has been awarded to Writer/ Director, Jean Pasley, & Producer, Greg Burrowes, for their project Ship of Souls

2019 Winner – “Harmless”

Writer/Director Tristan Heaune & Producer Ronan Cassify of Carbonated Comet Productions were the winners of the second Kerry Short Film Bursary. Tristan’s script follows the interaction between an isolated elderly farmer and a group of young joy-riders. It focuses on the older man’s experience and how the situation between them evolves.

2018 Winner – “Cailín Álainn”

Kerry County Council’s inaugural Short Film Bursary was awarded to producer Hazel Cullen & writer/director Megan K. Fox’s short film “CailÍn Álainn”. The film follows a teenager’s personal story of discovery and strength in the face of adversity. It features a summer stay at Irish College and the drama that ensures. “Cailín Álainn” was shot in Cloghane at the foot of Mount Brandon.

“Cailin Álainn” premiered at the Kerry International Film Festival in Oct 2019.
