Cathaoirleach Cllr Niall Kelleher congratulated each of the students on their wonderful drawings and said that “the standard of competition is extremely high and it is great to know that these students, through their drawings, are contributing to raising awareness of road safety throughout the county”.
Co-ordinator of the event, Ms. Noell O’Connor, Roads, Transportation & Marine Dept. was delighted with all the entries: “We had over 500 entries from schools around Kerry. It is heartening to see how teachers and students got so strongly involved and all students who took part now have an increased awareness of road safety as a result”.
