Beach Bye Laws
Beach Bye-Laws 2022
Kerry County Council Bye-Laws in relation to Blue Flag beaches in Kerry are in effect for the summer/bathing season, i.e. 1st June – 15th September.
They apply to beaches listed in the Bye-Laws which are under the control and management of the Council. The Bye-Laws do not, in general, apply to private property or to any car-parks or public roads in the vicinity of the beaches in question. A copy of the Bye-Laws can be accessed here:
Beach (Amendments) Bye-Laws 2026
Kerry County Council Beach (Amendments) Bye-Laws 2026 came into force on Wednesday, 17th June 2026 for the purposes of regulating and controlling the provision of sauna services and related commercial activities on specified beaches in County Kerry and providing for the imposition of fixed payments in accordance with Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.
