Applications for CLÁR Funding 2026

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has announced details of the CLÁR Programme for 2026.  CLÁR is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small scale infrastructural projects in rural areas that have suffered significant levels of de-population.  This funding assists in building the resilience of these rural communities.

The measures being funded under the CLÁR 2026 Programme are:

Measure 1:   Developing Community Facilities & Amenities
Application form to be completed electronically, on Kerry County Council’s online Consult portal.The online application form including the Scheme Outline are available on the following  link: CLÁR Funding 2026
Closing date:  Friday 15th May, 2026 (5 p.m.)

 

Measure 2:    Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responder and Meals on Wheels Transport

Measure 3:   ‘Our Living Islands’

Measure 1 Timelines (Friday 15th May, 2026 – 5 p.m.):

Application forms to be submitted on Kerry County Council’s online Consult portal by Friday 15 May, 2026 5 p.m., for shortlisting, and where selected, for onward submission as a funding application to the Department of Rural and Community Development.

Late applications will not be considered. The process is competitive as there is a limit on the number of submissions that Kerry County Council can submit to the Department.

Projects that are successful in receiving funding, must be completed and drawn down within 18 months from the funding announcement date.

The application form must be completed in full and all required documentation must be submitted with the application to be considered for assessment. Failure to provide all relevant information and documentation will preclude groups from assessment.

There is a minimum cash contribution of 10% required from the Community Groups under Measure 1. Please see the CLÁR 2026 Scheme Outline for further details.
