Community Fire Safety Talks and Visits

Fire service personnel deliver fire safety talks to various groups in the community throughout the County.

They distribute relevant fire safety information with the aim of getting more people involved in the prevention of fires.

Request for Fire Safety Talk

We do our best to accommodate requests from community groups and schools for fire service personnel to go out into the community and provide a fire safety talk to the group as part of our Community Fire Safety programme.

The Community Group or School is required to submit a formal request to us by email to [email protected] Requests for a fire safety talk when received are considered on an individual basis and should resources at the nearest Fire Station allow, the Fire Service may agree to the request.

Please note the following:

  • Should the Community Group or School have a particular date in mind, the Fire Service needs a minimum of 2 week’s advance notice of a visit so that we can plan for same and make appropriate arrangements.
  • The priority of the Fire Service at all times is Operational readiness to respond to fire and emergency incidents. Consequently, on rare occasions we might have to cancel our participation in a visit at short notice or indeed during the visit due to the required attendance of the local Fire Station personnel at a fire or emergency incident.
  • Fire safety in our communities is very important. Priority will be given to our participation in events that align with our Community Fire Safety programme countywide and broaden our reach within communities throughout the county.
