Given Kerry’s aim in the Local Economic and Community Plan to make Kerry an accessible county, priority will be given to projects which improve accessibility.


Application for CLÁR Funding 2018

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Mr Michael Ring TD, has announced details of the CLAR Programme for 2018. The Programme, which has a national budget of €5 million this year forms part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and will support investments such as play areas for children, traffic calming measures around schools and support for emergency first responders. The funding will be allocated by the Department on the basis of locally identified priorities.
CLÁR 2018 will provide funding under the following measures:

Measure 1: Support for Schools/Community Safety Measures
Measure 2: Play Areas (including MUGAs)
Measure 3: First Response Support Measure

Applications are invited in respect of measures 1 and 2 and must be submitted to the Community Department, Kerry County Council, Rathass, Tralee or by email to [email protected] by Thursday the 12th of April 2018.

Measure 3 applications must be submitted directly to the Department of Rural and Community Development

The full scheme outline and application forms which set out the detailed requirements of all three 2018 CLÁR measures is on Kerry County Council’s website.

Please note that the number of applications that may be submitted under measure one and two is strictly limited to 15 per Local Authority. All required documentation must accompany applications at the time of submission and there is a minimum Community match funding requirement under each measure. The closing date for receipt of applications submitted to the Community Department, Kerry County Council under measure 1 and 2 is Thursday the 12th of April 2018.
