Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development, has announced details of the CLÁR Programme for 2019, which includes new measures to support rural communities. CLÁR provides funding for small scale infrastructural projects in rural areas that have suffered significant levels of population decline. The programme is part of the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 Rural Regeneration Programme.
The measures being funded under the 2019 CLÁR programme are:
Measure 1: Support for Schools/Community Safety Measures
Measure 2: Play Areas (including Multi-Use Games Areas)
Measure 3: Community Wellbeing Supports, comprising of 3(a)First Response Support, 3(b)Mobility and Cancer Care Transport, and 3(c) Sensory Gardens.
Applications are invited in respect of Measure 1, Measure 2 and Measure 3 (c) must be submitted to the Community Department, Kerry County Council, Rathass, Tralee or by email to [email protected] by Tuesday the 9th of April 2019.
Please note that the above deadline is set to allow all applications to be assessed in advance of the Local Authority submitting final applications to the Department of Rural and Community Development by 25th April 2019.
All applications must be completed in full and all required documentation must be submitted with the application to be considered for assessment. Failure to provide all relevant information and documentation will preclude groups from assessment.
There is a minimum cash contribution required from the Community/School under each measure. Please see the 2019 CLÁR Scheme Guidelines for details.
