Draft Polling Scheme 2021

Kerry County Council as part of its duties is obliged to ensure that the Polling Scheme for the county of Kerry is updated at least every 10 years, Electoral Act 1992. A Polling Scheme is in place to ensure that each townland within the county has a Polling Place appointed in the event of elections and referendums. A Polling Scheme is set out under, County Electoral Areas, Polling Districts, Electoral Divisions, Townlands and Polling places.

Our current Polling Scheme is in place since 2011 and there is now a requirement for this scheme to be updated. A Draft Scheme has been prepared to take account of any changes arising with regard to boundary/other changes since 2011.

The Draft Polling Scheme is now on public display for a period of 5 weeks, from Friday 1st October to Friday 5th November. Any submissions from Elected members or from members of the public will then be examined for consideration of the approval of a new Polling Scheme.

Any submissions or observations should be submitted in writing to Pat O’Sullivan, Corporate Services Department, Kerry County Council or by email to [email protected] before Wednesday 10th November 2021.

If you have any queries or require further information please contact Pat O’Sullivan on 066 7183698 or by email [email protected]
