Enjoy Activities & Adventure
Kerry’s Gaeltacht areas, where Irish is the spoken language of the local community, offers a unique holiday experience for visitors. The Gaeltacht areas in Kerry include towns and villages in West Kerry, such as Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, Ceann Trá, An Daingean and Clochán Bhréanainn and in South Kerry, Cill Rialaigh, Baile an Sceilg, Doire Fhionáin, and the Islands of An Blascaod Mór, Sceilg Bheag and Sceilg Mhichíl. The Gaeltacht Experience offers visitors a taste of our living language and the distinctive culture of the area, reflected in its music, song, dance and festivals. Visitors have the opportunity to hear and learn Irish from local native Irish speakers, passionate about the Irish language, amidst the area’s rich culture, heritage and traditions.
