N72 Killorglin to Anglont Road Improvement Scheme

Kerry County Council’s National Road Office intends to improve the N72 carriageway between the roundabout at Laune Bridge and the junction of the L1127 Local Road which is approximately 2.6km eastwards.

An application for planning consent is now being prepared under the 177AE process, which it is intended to submit to An Bord Pleanála in early 2025 subject to the necessary consents from TII. 

A Compulsory Purchase Order application to acquire the lands necessary for construction of the scheme will also be submitted at this time. 

The planning process will allow affected landowners and members of the public to make submissions on the scheme for consideration by An Bord Pleanála in making its decision.

Prior to this application for approval, The National Roads Office is inviting landowners and residents associated with the scheme to an information day on Wednesday December 18th from 2.00pm to 7.00pm in the Killorglin Area Office, Library Place, Iveragh Road, and would like to extend the invitation to the public to attend.

The information day will provide more detail of the current status and programme for the proposed scheme.
