Notice of Rate having been made

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Kerry County Council has duly made the Annual Rate on the property rateable in the rating area of Kerry County Council.

The Annual Rate on Valuation for the Ordinary Expenditure for Kerry County Council for the service year ending 31st December, 2021, is €79.25.

The Rate Book may be inspected by any person affected thereby at Revenue Department, Kerry County Council, Ashe Memorial Hall, Denny St., Tralee, during office hours. Please note that in accordance with public health guidance during level 5 restrictions, our offices remain closed to the public. Due to Covid Restrictions if you wish to inspect the Rate Book please ring 066 7162100 to arrange an appointment.

The said Rate will be payable from and after the publication of this Notice.

Under Section 7 (1) of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act, 1978, any person, who is aggrieved at the failure of a rating authority to make him/her an allowance under that Act or who believes that he/she is entitled to a different allowance to that made to him/her, may within 2 months of the date of the Making of the Rate, request the rating authority in writing to grant the appropriate allowance.

In case the request is not complied with, within 28 days, the person may, within 4 months of the date of the Making of the Rate, apply to the District Court to have the appropriate allowance made. The above Rate was made on 10th March, 2021. Any request in respect of it under Section 7 (1) of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act, 1978, must therefore be made to Kerry County Council not later than the 13th May, 2021. Any application to the District Court under the same Provision must be made not later than the 16th July, 2021.
