Placemaking and Community Activation Grant Scheme 2026

 Kerry County Council has announced details of the allocation of €250,000 in funding support for projects across the county under the Placemaking and Community Activation Grant Scheme 2026. 

The scheme is open to businesses, community and voluntary groups based in Kerry, preferably in the settlement where the project will be delivered. It is not intended for profit organisations, but projects which support community benefit/enhancement in a ‘free of charge’ setting.

Project Types: 

Projects must encourage or benefit the look, feel and experience of a settlement in Kerry. Projects may look to enhance awareness of biodiversity, culture and heritage, e.g. greening of areas, sculptures, wall murals, arts installations and amenity areas. Projects are not restricted to these themes.

Funding Amount: 

As a guide it is expected that projects will range from €5,000 to €15,000. 

Project Delivery:

Successful project applications will be contacted within 6 weeks of the application deadline 15 May 2026.  All funded projects will be delivered by the applicant group(s). Projects must be completed by the end of 2026.

 The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday, 15 May 2026.
