N71 road at Dinis Ring of Kerry has now re-opened ahead of schedule.

The N71 Ring of Kerry Road has now re-opened ahead of schedule following the successful completion of remedial works at Dinis.

The road between Torc Waterfall and the carpark for Dinis Cottage has been closed since 24 June to facilitate emergency repairs to a section of the retaining wall and road at Dinis.

Contractors Cumnor Construction Ltd. have completed the repairs and the resurfacing of the road was completed yesterday (Tuesday). Ring of Kerry Road has now re-opened.

Kerry County Council would like to acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the closure, particularly to local businesses and regrets the impact the emergency works had over the past week and a half.

Kerry County Council would like to acknowledge the efficiency of the contractor in completing the work ahead of schedule. The council was anxious that the works would be completed ahead of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle on Saturday next and is pleased that this has been achieved.
