Rural Grant Schemes

CLÁR and Town and Village Renewal Scheme
The Government under it’s Action Plan for Rural Development, ‘Realising our Rural Potential’, has developed a package of national and local support measures to rejuvenate rural towns and villages throughout Ireland which includes CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) and the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Both schemes are managed by the Department of Rural and Community Development and operated through the Local Authorities.

Community Enhancement Programme
Administered by the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) in Kerry provides capital grants to community groups with the aim of enhancing facilities in disadvantaged areas.

Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme provides funding for the development of new and existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas. The Scheme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development in partnership with Fáilte Ireland.

When calls for funding are announced these are advertised through Kerry County Council’s website www.kerrycoco.ie with the relevant scheme guidelines and applications forms available for downloading.
