Kerry County Council continues to monitor Storm Eunice this morning and advises that people should remain indoors and not travel for the duration of the Red Alert.

The Council is asking members of the public to avoid unnecessary travel after the Red Alert expires and reminds everyone that a Status Orange alert will be in place for Kerry between 8am and 11am

The extent of power outages around the county is an indication of the severity of the storm and anyone travelling later today is advised to expect fallen trees, branches and debris and other disruptions.

Council crews will mobilise when it is safe to do so and will deal with any issues that arise over the coming hours.

The Council’s emergency phoneline is available at 066 7183588.

Kerry County Council has received reports of flooding at Prince’s Quay in Tralee and there is a tree down on the road at Burnham on the road between Dingle and Ventry.

Further updates will be provided on the Council’s social media channels.
