Kerry County Council has been to the fore of the energy movement in Ireland since the formation of our Energy Section in 2001. This year we became one of only a handful of Local Authorities who have achieved ISO 50001 certification of our Energy Management System (July 2017).<\/p>\n
The Energy Section monitors the organisation energy consumption in the delivery of services tracking the organisation progress to achieving our 2020 target of 33% energy improvement, which we are on target to achieve.<\/p>\n
To demonstrate commitment to energy efficiency the Chief Executive signed the Kerry County Council Energy Policy in May 2016.<\/p>\n
The energy section has also delivered many energy saving projects in conjunction with Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and has been an exemplar local authority in this regard, receiving a 10 year legacy award in 2011.
