Willing Able Mentoring (WAM) Programme
The Willing Able Mentoring Programme offers work placements for graduates with disabilities . This WAM programme is an initiative of AHEAD, an independent non-profit organisation creating inclusive environments in education and employment for people with disabilities. The central objective of WAM is to promote a more inclusive labour market for graduates with disabilities through the provision of paid and mentored work placements, which participating employers in WAM provide. This programme offers valuable experience for graduates with disabilities in a real work setting (relevant to their qualifications) and assists in the development of social and networking skills while receiving ongoing support and guidance in the form of a mentoring programme.
Kerry County Council is delighted to be a participant in the WAM Programme, and will be facilitating 12 month placements commencing from September 2022 in the following areas:-
