Commercial Rates
What are Commercial Rates?
Commercial rates are a local property tax on Commercial Properties and the income raised goes towards meeting the cost of services provided by Kerry County Council throughout the county each year. Rates are payable on commercial properties, such as shops, offices, factories, licensed premises and other non-domestic properties.

Valuation Order – Kerry County Council Rating Authority Order
The National Revaluation Programme
The commercial rates payable in any year is calculated by multiplying the Valuation of the property which is set by the Valuation Office by the Annual Rate on Valuation (ARV) which is set by the Local Authority.
Your Local Authority has provided an Indicative ARV based on the income levied by them in 2022.
This indicative rate calculator will calculate what your rates liability for 2022 would have been if that proposed valuation had been in place for 2022.
Your actual rates liability for 2024 will be calculated by multiplying the Valuation of the property, set by the Valuation Office, by the Annual Rate on Valuation (ARV) which will be set by your Local Authority in Quarter 4 2023.
