The Tourism Unit was established in 2014 to promote further economic development in Kerry by facilitating the development and promotion of a sustainable and diversified tourism industry.  This is being achieved through the establishment of effective partnerships and collaborations with Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland, the local tourism trade, community groups and development companies and by developing new tourism initiatives, enhancing existing tourism infrastructure and ensuring an acceptable standard of environment for locals and visitors.

The tourism sector is one of the major growth areas of the national and local economy and it is the sector of the economy with the most potential for growth. Kerry attracts 1.5 million tourists annually but has the potential to increase visitor numbers, visitor spend and the number of people employed in the tourism sector.

The Tourism Unit together with the Destination Kerry Forum and other stakeholders, prepared a Kerry Tourism Strategy & Action Plan 2016-2022 to support the development of tourism in Kerry.

KERRY DESTINATION BRAND

A new Kerry Destination Brand was officially launched in December 2017 by Minister Brendan Griffin. The creation of this brand is an initiative of the Destination Kerry Tourism Forum and the Tourism Unit in Kerry County Council. The brand is an endorsement and guarantee of the unique experience of visiting Kerry. It is a major competitive differentiator and an integral part of everyone’s commercial offer.

A Brand Guidebook has been produced by the Tourism Unit which explains the brand essence and outlines the correct use of the logo, its application, associated colour palette for the brand, logo typefaces etc. It is essential that the brandmark is reproduced correctly and consistently.

We want the tourism sector throughout Kerry to use the brand on their marketing material, websites and social media platforms.

Electronic and hard copies of the guidelines will be widely distributed to the tourism sector throughout the county to encourage use of the new brand.

You can download an electronic version of Our Kerry Brand Guidebook here or if you require a hard copy, please contact the Tourism Unit, Kerry County Council by emailing [email protected] or phone us on 066 7183591.

Prior to downloading and using any of the logos, please read through the Guidebook carefully to ensure correct usage.

The Kerry Brand logo is available in both print and screen formats and three versions of the logo are available as follows:
