Change to the dates of the temporary road closure of the N70 Glenbeigh to Cahersiveen Road at Gleensk.

A works contractor was appointed recently to carry out structural intervention works to address existing damage to a section of embankment supporting the N70 at Gleensk. The contractor will commence works on site on Monday 16th October 2023.

These works will now be carried out over a shorter closure timeframe with night-time closures commencing from Tuesday 24th October (8:00pm) to Friday Morning 15th December 2023 (7:00am). Initially the night-time road closures will be for 5 nights a week Monday to Friday inclusive. The number of nights worked per week may increase from 5 depending on progress.

Emergency vehicles will be accommodated during the proposed interim night-time road closures.

The purpose of the road closure is to facilitate structural intervention works to address existing damage to a section of embankment supporting the N70 at Gleensk.

An alternative route will be clearly signposted.  The proposed diversion route is shown on the linked Drawing above.
