LEADER 2023-27 / LECP 2023-29 Community Consultation
Have your Say on next LEADER Programme
Public Consultation Process on LEADER 2023-2027 taking place
With the new LEADER Programme beginning later this year, the Kerry Local Development Committee is seeking the public’s views on what areas they feel should benefit from the funding allocated by the programme.
LEADER has been operating in Ireland and across EU Member States for over 30 years and in that time, a scheme that began as an experimental rural development programme in 1991, has evolved into an integral part of rural development in Ireland and across Europe.
Over three decades of investment has seen the LEADER Programme support the development of a wide range of innovative and sustainable projects that have brought increased jobs and vibrancy to rural communities across the county and across Ireland the EU.
With the next LEADER Programme beginning later in 2023 and lasting until 2027, the Kerry Local Development Committee is looking for input from the public as to what areas they feel the LEADER Programme should support.
The views of the public will be critical in identifying and targeting the projects and actions that help to make Kerry more economically vibrant, more socially inclusive and more environmentally sustainable.
As part of this public consultation strategy, a number of public meetings will be held in strategic locations around the county, starting on Tuesday 27th June.
