Expression of Interest Form

Kerry County Council invites towns and villages across the County to submit ‘Expressions of Interest’ for evaluation under the Project Development Measure, which is funded by the Department of Rural & Community Development.

The purpose of this measure is to assist in the preparation of a pipeline of significant, well developed projects which may be subsequently progressed to construction stage, subject to the availability of further funding. Funding may be awarded for costs such as detailed design, planning, procurement, professional fees, assessments and other developmental costs.

Only 2 expressions of interest will be selected to progress to full application to the Department of Rural and Community Development as part of the Local Authority submission.

Under this measure there is a maximum value of €50,000 per application at a grant rate of 90% of the total project costs per project application and a minimum match funding rate of 10% of the total project cost.

Any project for which funding is sought under this measure must be strategic, help to rejuvenate the town or village where it is located and demonstrate that it has emerged through consultation with stakeholders/beneficiaries e.g. sectoral authorities/agencies, business, community, local community groups, residents etc.

All Expressions of Interest will be assessed based on the priorities as contained in the Scheme Outline.

The ‘Expression of Interest’ Form must be completed and returned by email to [email protected] or by post to: Community, Arts & Culture Department, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Rathass, Tralee, Co. Kerry no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday 12^th  March, 2024.

The deadline is set to allow all applications to be assessed in advance of the Local Authority submitting final applications to the Department of Rural and Community Development by  8^th April, 2024.

  Please Note:

• Any extension of the closing date cannot be facilitated in any circumstance.
• The process is competitive as there is a limit on the number of submissions that Kerry County Council can submit to the Department.
• The submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a final application to the Department to consider the project for funding. Projects that are shortlisted to Application Stage will be formally notified by the Local Authority.
