Housing Estates
The Housing Estates Unit undertakes the following functions for the entire county of Kerry (including the towns of Tralee, Killarney and Listowel):
- Inspecting housing estates
- Claiming on bonds with itemised and costed claims.
- Pursuing bondsmen for the resolution of any unpaid bond claims.
- Reducing / releasing bonds as appropriate.
- Transferring bond moneys received to Operations to arrange for the necessary works to be done in so far as the bond moneys received will finance.
- Agreeing schedule of works / Site Resolution Plans with bondsmen /developers/receivers.
- Taking in charge of housing estates in accordance with the adopted Kerry County Council Taking in charge policy and the Memorandum of Understanding between Irish Water and Kerry County Council regarding the taking in charge of the water services infrastructure.
- Commenting on planning applications received for new housing estates as part of the internal consultation process.
