Launched in July 2022, the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant provides people with a grant to support the refurbishment of vacant properties.

The grant was expanded in November 2022 to include eligible vacant properties in all areas, including cities, towns, villages and rural parts of the country.

In May 2023 the grant was further expanded to provide for applications for a property as a principal private residence and or a property made available for rent.  A maximum of two grants are available per applicant, with only one grant available for a property made available for rent.

Properties for inclusion must be built up to and including 2007 and evidence is required.

The grant rates increased from €30,000 to €50,000 for vacant properties and from €50,000 to €70,000 for derelict properties.
